House Wrens often compete for the same nesting cavities as bluebirds. However, House Wrens won’t enter the nesting box when they can’t see the entrance. Our built-in Wren Shield panel blocks the entrance from view of any House Wrens in the area. Mount against any flat surface. Place the Wren Shield in the downright position after the first or second egg has been laid. Watch bluebirds enter and exit the nesting box while continuing to lay eggs. Once the hatchlings are between 4 and 7 days old, place the Wren Shield in the upright position to allow your birds to fledge. Observe the nest through the clearview plastic side panel.
